"The Judaica Suite, on the second floor of Smathers Library, was designed by the world-renowned architect and artist, Kenneth Treister. An alumnus of the University of Florida, Treister has spent his life creating, writing, and lecturing on architecture. He is the sculptor and architect of Miami Beach’s world-famous Holocaust Memorial. His work is recognized throughout the United States, Israel, and the Caribbean. In addition to the Price Library’s rare books, the Suite contains Treister’s handmade furniture, artwork, and sculptures, as well as his collection of rare chess sets."
